BOUKANACK brings together Mariaa Siga and Oddy in a new collaboration. Produced by Odyssée Records and Made in Africa, the single blends Mariaa Siga’s soulful vocals with Oddy’s reggae and afro-folk sounds to share a powerful message of unity and hope.
With its uplifting rhythms, “Boukanack” encourages celebration of diversity. A dub version accompanies the release, available on all platforms from October 18.
The music video, filmed in Senegal by MAO SIDIBE with support from REGION SUD, beautifully reflects the song’s energy and universal message.
In a world often clouded by negativity, Blueshift Horizon offers a glimmer of hope. This song reflects my personal journey, capturing the highs and lows of my musical path. Rather than following traditional pop structures, I aimed to tell a story, allowing the song to unfold authentically over its five-and-a-half-minute length.
It blends my guitar influences with a sense of optimism, encouraging listeners to chase their dreams and push their limits. Staying true to my vision, I resisted altering the song to fit trends, and that honesty is what I cherish most about how it turned out.
The D.Song is a shortcut to a track called “The Drummer Song,” a piece I originally composed in memory of a close friend and talented drummer who passed away a few years ago.
For my new album Rio de Oro, I expanded the track with additional sections to explore more themes. To enrich it further, my friend Remilson Nery from Rio de Janeiro contributed vocal lines inspired by love and sensuality, bringing the essence of Brazilian music to the piece.
